Geotextile

Woven and unwoven geotextiles provide an effective solution to the age-old problem of constructing stable granular layers over soft foundation soils. This fundamental problem, and the solution using Geotextile, is shown in Figure 1.

Retaining walls can be constructed with out external support.
Steeper slopes can be built than is possible where a natural fill material is used.
